Where is the evidence on age-friendly environments? Explore WHO's new global mega-map

Reading time:

WHO will launch the Mega-Map on Interventions and Programs for Age-Friendly Environments at a global online event on 5 November 2026, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET. Join us to discover where evidence on interventions to create age-friendly environments exists, where important gaps remain, and how this information can help inform policy, practice, research and investment decisions.

Creating environments that enable people to age well requires action across sectors, including housing, transport, public spaces and community participation. While evidence on relevant interventions is growing, it remains fragmented and can be difficult to find and use.

The new Mega-Map brings together systematic reviews and evidence and gap maps on age-friendly environments in a single interactive visual resource, making it easier to find, explore and navigate the available evidence across sectors.

What can you expect from the launch?

The event will introduce the mega-map, share key insights from the evidence landscape and provide a practical demonstration of how to navigate and use the resource. A panel discussion will explore how evidence can inform action, followed by an opportunity for participants to ask questions.

Whether you are a policymaker, practitioner, researcher, funder or partner working to create age-friendly environments, the event will offer insights into how this new resource can help you create an age-friendly world!
